Day 1 Wrap Up - COVID-19 Global Hackathon 1.0

Hey everyone,

Wow, what a start! We’re so thrilled that more than 10,000 innovators have come together to #BuildforCOVID19. With hundreds of projects already submitted we are off to a great start!

As the first day comes to a close, we wanted to share a few notes on:

(1) Some programming we have planned for Friday.

(2) What to do if you need help on your next step.

Happening Tomorrow, Friday March 27th:

Stay tuned to #hackathon-announcements channel for all the latest updates on what to expect on Day 2.  We will be letting you know about events as they happen, and of course - this is a hackathon - so if you are organizing content and want to invite people email adam@slow.co!  

11:00am - 11:30am PST: Raylene Yung the Head of US Digital Response (usdigitalresponse.org) and former engineering leader from Stripe will speak with Sam Lessin co-organizer of the Hackathon about what her organization is prioritizing in responding to the COVID-19 Crisis and why [link to be posted tomorrow].

1:00pm - 2:00pm PST: Hack Club will be hosting an ask-me-anything conversation with Chris Cox, the former Head of Product for Facebook & Zach Latta, founder of Hack Club. We’ll be livestreaming the chat via YouTube to all hackathon participants [link to be posted tomorrow].

8:00am - 5:00pm PST: AWS will be hosting office hours in the #aws-support channel with advice from AWS Solution Architects about building on AWS.
